Lil One's Excema Flare END
Here is how lil one's leg looks after 5 days of treatment.
We applied the balm each night about 15 mins before bed to allow it to soak in comfortably so as not to get oil on the sheets or PJ's.
You can see from the photo's how an angry painful eczema flare was quickly resolved without any of the usual painfull stinging often associated with the initial reaction to prescribed creams. Photos Before and After of progress over 5 days of treatment with Innocent Oils Hemp Balm Natural
Innocent Oils Hemp Seed Oil Balm has very little smell only a light nutty, grassy, green scent, if any at all.
It certainly does not smell like the Body Shop Hemp products, with their not natural Hemp perfumed scent.
I used less than 30ml over a 5 day period with liberal application to very sore enlarged areas on both legs. You may not need this much, but a pot of this size is handy just in case.
Innocent Oils Hemp Balms and Oils
The Hemp Balm I used is available in 5g slip lid tin, 15ml | 30ml and 60ml recycled glass jars, from £2.25.
For this we used only Hemp Seed Oil Balm this time. But you can also use 100% Hemp Seed Oil as an all over moisturiser prior to Hemp Balm application.
This would have increased to speed of recovery in this case, but we wanted to illustrate how well the Hemp Seed Oil Balm works on its own.
From now on we will be using 100% Hemp Seed Oil on its own, as a top up for regular continued use for whole body, with the balm on hand for additional moisture asistance if a flare occurs again anywhere on the body.
Our 100% Hemp Seed Oil is unscented and quick to absorb. Making it ideal for every day use, especially with children who don't like fuss or to sit still for long, like ours.
I hope this has helped illustrate how our Innocent Hemp Balm and Oil can help when eczema appears and will be happy to advise on how to use it if you are affected in the same way.

Lil one's eczema flare.
Day 2
This is how the leg looks today following yesterday's Hemp Seed Oil Balm application.
The area is significantly less inflammed today and the itch has gone.
We're not there yet though, still some patches to clear up fully before I would consider the flare fully dealt with. Next post for update.

Lil ones eczema flare. Before
Day 1
This first picture shows the eczema flare on little ones left leg. The right leg looks the same, poor love. :(
In this picture I have just applied Hemp Seed Oil Balm to take away the itch.
I will blog the change and effects of the balm over the next few days...
This reaction came up after a few hours of wearing a pair of leggings washed in ECOS Lavender laundry liquid.
Just goes to show even the eco stuff aint so great for our lot.
I have reverted to soap nuts and shikakai for washing her clothes, for the time being. Her legs had been fine up until the laundry liquid change, so now it will be a case of removing all detergents until it subsides, then gently reintroduce the non bio liquid we were using prior to the change.
Note to self: Detergent is detergent is detergent...no matter how supposedly gentle it claims to be.

Hemp Seed Oil for Eczema
Researchers, led by Dr J Callaway, at the department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Clinical Nutrition at the University, followed a group of patients with atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, which is a type of allergy that causes dry and itchy skin and often requires medical treatment.
"We are still processing some of the biochemical data," said Dr Callaway, "but the subjective results from the patients are already in and they have been correlated with the diagnostic reports from the dermatologist.
"In short, we saw a remarkable reduction in dryness, itching and an overall improvement in the symptoms of these patients while they were using the hempseed oil, and no significant change at all while they were using the olive oil. We also noticed a reduction in the frequency of influenza when these patients were taking the hempseed oil," continued the researcher.
The patients orally consumed two tablespoons of oil a day for two months in a randomised, double-blind crossover design. The other oil in the study was cold-pressed olive oil, and a two month washout period separated the two oil intervention periods.
Previously, these same researchers investigated the effects of hemp seed oil in a group of healthy volunteers and subsequently found elevated blood levels of GLA (gamma-linolenic acid; a naturally occurring fatty acid).
"This is a good thing because decreased GLA is thought to be associated with several chronic health problems, such as allergies and other disorders of the immune system," said Dr Callaway.Over the last 10 years, numerous anecdotal reports have claimed that hempseed oil improves skin integrity, strengthens finger-nails and thickens hair. "In a way, this all makes sense because skin, hair and nails are all formed from the same line of dermal stem cells," said Dr Callaway.
MotherHemp claims that while hempseed oil is relatively new to the modern Western palate, it has been used as an inexpensive substitute for butter in most Eastern European cultures in the past, particularly in Russia. Hempseed oil is more than 90 per cent unsaturated and, for this reason, should not be used for frying, the company noted.
"Hempseed oil is an exceptional source of EFAs; the essential fatty acids that we must obtain from our daily diet because, like vitamins, we can't produce them on our own. Judging from the fatty acid profile of hempseed oil, the numerous anecdotal reports over the years and now the results of our initial clinical investigations, I'd have to conclude that this is probably the healthiest oil on the market," said Dr Callaway.
"Clearly, this is an important and useful discovery that will need to be investigated further," added Dr Callaway.

Tattoo After Care

* At home wash the tattoo gently with water or a mild soap. Hemp Soap or Love One Hemp Soap is very mild and gentle on tattooed skin, containing lashings of Essential Fatty Acid rich hemp seed oil, very soothing and moisturising for freshly tattooed skin.
* Gently pat dry the tattoo with a clean towel and let it breathe.
* On the 2nd day start applying Natural Hemp Balm to aid healing and reduce inflammation.
* After the healing period (usually 3 to 7 days) take showers instead of baths to help prevent ink lift.
* For at least 4 weeks do not use swimming pools or saunas to avoid ink lift.
* The tattoo will create a scab, do not remove this! Allow it to fall off in its own time.
* Do not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight or solar radiation The new skin can be vulnerable to burning, which may lift or damage the artwork.
*Keep your tattoo looking its best with regular applications of 100% Innocent Hemp Seed Oil or Hemp Seed Oil Balm.
AVOID Petroleum, Mineral Oil and Lanolin based creams as these can block the pores and may cause ink lift, which can ruin hours of tattoo artwork in no time at all.
*Enjoy your new tattoo.
Innocent Oils products are Vegan Registered and suitable for all skin types.
